Whereas, the Utah Storytelling Guild has been organized to protect, nurture, foster and promote the art form and practice of storytelling;
Whereas, the Utah Storytelling Guild’s programs have delighted young and old alike since the guild began in September of 1990;
Whereas, the Utah Storytelling Guild supports Utah’s students, teachers and parents through storytelling training and workshops;
Whereas, the Utah Storytelling Guild is sponsoring “StorySwap,” a Storytelling Workshop and Event in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 4, 1995;
I do hereby and forthwith, as the Governor of the State of Utah, the Honorable Michael O. Leavitt, declare Saturday, March 4, 1995
STORYTELLING DAY
in our great state of Utah, and encourage our citizens to consider the benefits and enjoyment storytelling brings to children from 1 to 101.
