Our Mission
The Utah Storytelling Guild is a non-profit organization established to
nurture, foster and promote the art form and practice of storytelling.
Our Story
After the first Timpanogos Storytelling Festival in 1990, four Utah storytellers
got together to create the Utah Storytelling Guild. Since that day, the guild has
grown and chapters have been created to offer local meetings for tellers to convein.
The guild has fostered the art of storytelling in our state.
Our Programs
Chapters - Local Chapters have monthly meetings to
promote storytelling in your area and provide the opportunity to develop and share
your stories.
Taleswapper - The Taleswapper is a bi-monthly
newsletter offered to guild members, containing stories, suggestions, reviews,
performing opportunities, and local storytelling information. An online version is
also available to guild members.
This Website - Bringing the best and most talented area
storytellers to you and together.
Artwork
The artwork used to create this website was commissioned by the Utah Storytelling
Guild in 1995 from Storyboard Artist Kevin Gollaher. A Proclamation was made to
declare March 4, 1995 Storytelling Day in the State of Utah. The Proclamation was
signed by Governor Michael O. Leavitt. Read the Proclamation.
